Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is a truly unique destination that's unlike anything else in Colorado. The park is home to the tallest sand dunes in North America, which rise up to 750 feet tall. The dunes are a popular destination for hiking, sandboarding, and stargazing. The park has two campgrounds, Pinon Flats Campground and Mosca Campground. Pinon Flats Campground is the larger and more developed of the two, with over 80 campsites and easy access to the dunes. Mosca Campground is a smaller and more secluded option, with just 19 campsites and easy access to the park's backcountry.
